Transparencies. - 2012
Transparency can allude to several things. In the most obvious sense it speaks of the very sheer nature of my materials and media. However it can also be translated to mean easily understood, free from pretense, or ready with information.
In speaking about my own life, journey through love, and coming to terms with my queerness I intend to be just that: transparent.
Upon “coming out”, I was faced with a lot of strange notions that I was somehow “losing my chance at family”. I think that’s the furthest from the truth. For me this work shows a personal voyage to understanding that in being true to ones self we find the ability to carve our own paths and choose our own destinies.
